Food Explorers Group

For children with food related sensory difficulties or "picky eating."

Food Explorers Group

This group is designed for children who are between 7 and 12 years of age, who have food related sensory difficulties or “picky eating.” The group is intended to provide support, education and hands-on practice for the child and family members, in a fun, positive environment. Each session will target a variety of domains that impact feeding success, including sensory and food exploration, facilitating a positive and appropriate feeding environment and discussion, and parent education lead by a certified SLP and OT.

Our Philosophy

These unprecedented times have been difficult for everyone; the arrival of COVID-19 left many lost, confused, and fearful of what the future might hold. Growing doubts coupled with minimal human interaction heightened social anxieties and made any human interaction seem like a potential for infection. Here at Therapies of the Rockies, we wholeheartedly understand how difficult it can be to readjust to these strange times, which is why we are dedicated to preserving our patients’ continuity of therapy. We have offered telepractice services for more than five years, so you can be certain that our therapists are more than skilled in meeting this most critical need. While more and more people are turning to remote healthcare during these unprecedented circumstances, we at Therapies of the Rockies are proud to serve our clients’ needs in a delicate and professional manner. The world is chaotic enough; your safe space shouldn’t be.

We Are One of the Top Speech & Language Therapists in Your Area.

"We were recommended by our neighbor to Therapies of the Rockies for our 3 year old and can not say enough great things about these women! My toddler has a hard time warming up to anyone and they know exactly how to work with him. We’ve learned so much in such a short amount of time, with their help, with a child who struggles with communication and socialization."

Stephanie

"Therapies of the Rockies is amazing for my SPD kiddo. We’ve been to other speech therapists and none were a good fit, once we switched the TOTR we found a SLP who not only works well with my child, she is helping him to make progress by adjusting her practice to engage with him in a way that works for him rather than trying to make him fit into her practice like previous providers. Our OT is amazing! She is creative and scaffolds her treatment to help my child become more successful at school and in his daily activities, without having an OT by his side. Both our SLP and OT work with us, the parents, to implement strategies we can do at home to practice outside of therapy. In addition to the level of professionalism and excellence in practice, everyone is kind and really cares about my child, they are invested in his success and truly care about him and our family. If you are looking for services for your kiddo, this is the place- look no further!"

Lee

"We have really enjoyed having Ben Feiten as my son’s OT therapist. My son looks forward to his therapy sessions with Ben and loves the exercises and activities he has planned out for him. Ben has a special way with kids and you can tell he puts his heart and soul into his work. My son has been going to therapy since he was 3 and is now 8. Ben has been hands done the best therapist my son has had. He’s worked with my son to help him with food issues (texture, color, taste). I highly recommend Ben to anyone who is looking for an OT therapist."

Laura

"My daughters speech had definitely approved with the tips suggested at her appointment. Everyone is so friendly and professional. Highly recommend!"

"I can't thank enough the specialists at Therapies of the Rockies for tremendous work they have done with my 2 sons. Both therapists worked so hard and were very patient. Improvements in my kids' speech quality were noticed immediately. Within 1 year we were discharged with test scores within normative limits. Thank you Therapies of the Rockies!!! Highly recommend. "

Zukhra

"Therapies of the Rockies is a great place. I decided to get help with my speech before I left the military. I am so glad that I did! My therapist and she did wonderful! She did everything in her power to help me with my fluency. She helped me understand the problem that I had and the best ways to cope with it. It was not only my therapist that deserves a great review, but the entire Aurora location. The other therapists were there and we're eager to help Rachel and I with our projects. I would especially like to thank TOTR for prepping me for job interviews and my civilian transition. It's been a year since Ive last seen them and am doing exceptionally well with my speech (and career) and it's because of my therapist and TOTR."

Emily

"The therapist working with my son is fantastic. She makes his therapy fun and keeps him engaged. My entire family, as well as my son, have notice the huge improvement he has made in his speech. Before he was withdrawn and unwilling to talk. Now he has has made friends at school and talks with the family."

Lucia Valdez

"Love Ms. Melanie, she has been so wonderful to work with this year and my son has made great progress with her. So much that we were able to graduate speech therapy."
