Amanda King founded Therapies of the Rockies in 2008 to assist families in obtaining quality therapy services without having to go to a hospital setting. Amanda has grown the company to over 25 full time employees and is always working to maintain TOTR’s high standard of excellence. Amanda has 2 kiddos elementary school age and in her spare time, she can be found walking her 2 dogs, exploring the restaurant scene, or skiing at Keystone Mountain.

Leah Castle

Leah has spent her career in small business environments wearing many hats. Prior to joining the team at Therapies of the Rockies, Leah has worked in the Entertainment and Technology industries honing her administrative, human resources, office management, and client services fields. She is excited to move into the Billing Manager role at Therapies of the Rockies and be part of a team providing excellent patient care.

Melanie Wiseman

Melanie is the Clinical Director at Therapies of the Rockies, supporting our clinical staff and working collaboratively with the practice managers. She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Northeastern University, and currently holds national certification through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and state licensure in Colorado. Melanie joined the TOTR family in 2013, working hard for the growth of her patients as well as toward the growth and success of the team at Therapies of the Rockies. Melanie strives to incorporate the most up-to-date evidence-based research in her practice, ensuring patients receive dynamic treatment that fits their needs and abilities for expanding their communication. She has focused her continuing education and clinical practice primarily in the areas of Autism and Apraxia of Speech but holds a love for supporting children with all speech and language disorders in children, as well as their families. Melanie’s approach to therapy integrates all areas of child development and supported research approaches while working with the family to build connections from the therapy room to school and home. She makes therapy fun, engaging, and relevant for promoting the most success and carryover in a child’s communication.

Britney Sanders

Britney has clinical experience in private practice, school settings, and home health, where she has provided individual and group therapy. She obtained her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Utah State University.
She has extensive knowledge with the 2-5 year old population, as well as school age children. Britney has experience evaluating and treating a range of disorders including expressive and receptive language, articulation, stuttering, social-language, and apraxia. She has also worked with children who communicate with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Britney loves working with children and improving their language abilities through literacy.
When Britney is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband traveling, hiking, and exploring more stunning places that Colorado has to offer.

Ben Feiten

Doctor of Occupational Therapy
Creighton University

Ben is a Denver native, growing up just a few miles from our Aurora clinic. Ben attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where he received a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration and Policy and his doctorate in occupational therapy. Prior to OT school, Ben gained experience working in an intentional community for adults with intellectual disabilities called L’Arche and working to promote inclusive school programming through Special Olympics Nebraska. Ben has always had an interest in pediatrics, in part because he grew up watching his father serve children as a pediatrician. Ben loves working with children of all ages and enjoys conversing with them about the latest Marvel or Disney movie or whatever is important to them. Ben has experience working with children with autism, sensory processing disorders, and emotional regulation difficulties both in person and virtually. In his free time, Ben loves spending time with friends and family, riding his bike, playing disc golf, and watching basketball. 

Aspen Christen 

Speech Language Pathologist

Aspen received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida in Linguistics with a concentration in Spanish, and Communication Sciences and Disorders. She then went on to receive her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, UT. She has clinical experiences across the lifespan with pediatrics and adults. She completed her clinical fellowship doing pediatric home health where she specialized in working with medically-fragile children with complex disorders, cerebral palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorders, children with chromosomal abnormalities as well as those with speech, language, articulation, and phonological delays. She also has experience working with the birth-3 age population through Early Intervention. Growing up with a wide range of speech, language and hearing difficulties herself, she understands and can empathize with her clients on a personal level. Her experience with the adult population ranges from acute care to long-term rehabilitation working with dysphagia, traumatic brain injury, post-stroke rehabilitation, post-concussive syndrome, aphasia, and dysarthria. She also has completed additional training in Modified Barium Swallow Studies and is able to provide assessment and intervention in both English and Spanish. Aspen enjoys skiing and hiking outside of the office as well as spending time with her cat, Bongo.

Julie Medenwald

Speech Language Pathologist
Marquette University

Julie is originally from Southern California. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology and her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology. After graduating, Julie moved to Denver to complete a volunteer year at an inclusive preschool for children with various abilities. She continued on to complete her Clinical Fellowship there where she specialized in working with children with complex medical and developmental diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, chromosomal abnormalities, cerebral palsy, and speech and language delays. Julie has experience working with pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations in clinical, home health, and school settings. She is especially passionate about early childhood speech and language development and enjoys building meaningful relationships with her clients and their families. Julie also has experience working with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), fluency, cognition, aphasia, apraxia, and voice clients. Julie strives to make therapy fun and relevant to the everyday lives of her clients and their families. In her free time, Julie enjoys hiking, baking, playing her ukulele, and spending time with her friends, family, and pet rabbit, Chance.

Anjali Narayan

Anjali is originally from Massachusetts and moved to Denver in 2019 to explore her love for the outdoors. She attended Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science Studies with a minor in Psychology. She then went on to receive her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from American International College in Springfield, MA. Anjali has experience across the lifespan from pediatrics to geriatrics. Her pediatric experiences have been within home care, teletherapy, outpatient, public schools, and nature immersion school settings. Her experiences with adults have been in short and long-term inpatient rehabilitation settings and inpatient psychiatric settings. Anjali believes there is more than one set path to follow in life and found a passion for occupational therapy to empower others and give them the tools to reach their goals on whatever path they may be on. She is passionate about her work in pediatrics and providing creative, fun, and patient-centered interventions based on a child’s interests and strengths, as well as providing parent/caregiver training and education. Anjali is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Occupational Therapy Association of Colorado and keeps up-to-date on the latest evidence regarding her interventions. In her free time, Anjali enjoys hiking, drawing, and spending time with loved ones, including her cat, Dapi.

Carly Knickelbein

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistance
University of Minnesota

Carly is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who is originally from Wisconsin (Go Pack Go) and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities in Child Psychology. She moved to Colorado in 2013 to enjoy the beautiful mountains and sunny winters! Carly has experience working with adolescents in mental health and various age groups while working in home health. She has a 1.5-year-old puppy who is full of life and keeps her on her toes! She also loves to hike and play volleyball at the park with friends. Carly is excited to help her clients learn and grow in their favorite occupations!
