COURTNEY IVY
Occupational Therapist
Courtney is originally from a small town outside of Birmingham, Alabama and earned her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from Tuskegee University in 2023. She has clinical experience in a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedics, inpatient rehab, adult day programs, school-based pediatrics, and her favorite – outpatient pediatrics.
Her favorite part of working with children is seeing how excited they get when making progress and mastering new skills. When she’s not at work, Courtney loves reading all genres, trying new recipes, and going on hikes with her family
Laura Mifflin
Occupational Therapist
Texas Woman’s University
Laura Mifflin is from the small island town of Galveston, Texas. After earning her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in May 2025, she relocated to Colorado to begin the next chapter of her career. She completed her doctoral capstone project working in underserved schools to develop a program that identifies and treats young children at risk of developmental trauma. She has worked with children of various abilities and skills for most of her life and is passionate about empowering future generations, both in her personal life and professional career.
Her clinical experience spans a wide range of settings, including psychiatric and forensic facilities, post-acute outpatient care, and school-based pediatrics. She has treated individuals with behavioral, intellectual, developmental, and physical challenges.
In her free time, Laura enjoys volunteering, cooking, hiking, petting all the dogs, and experimenting with new hobbies in her new home (with her Australian Shepherd by her side, of course).
JAMES WADE
Occupational Therapist
Hello, I’m James, a Colorado native and new pediatric occupational therapist at Therapies of the Rockies. I’m passionate about helping kids overcome challenges and reach their goals through playful, meaningful activities. When I’m not in the clinic, you can find me working out, golfing, soaking up the outdoors, or cheering on any Colorado sports teams. I also have a dog named Toby who’s in training to become a therapy dog—I’m excited for the day he can join me in supporting the amazing families we serve.
Maddie Russel
Speech Language Pathologist
Texas Woman’s University
Maddie is completing her clinical fellowship in speech-language pathology with the TOTR Lakewood team. Originally from Springfield, Illinois, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech & Hearing Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and recently graduated with her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Eastern Illinois University.
Maddie has experience working with patients across the lifespan in both school and medical settings. She recently completed her educational externship at a K–6 school in Colorado and previously completed a medical externship at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, where she worked with adults on the brain injury rehabilitation floor.
She is passionate about helping individuals strengthen their communication and swallowing skills so they can feel more confident and independent in daily life. Maddie has particular interests in feeding and swallowing therapy, AAC, cognitive-communication disorders, and providing care through a neurodiversity-affirming lens.
She enjoys building strong relationships with patients and families and creating therapy that is personalized, meaningful, and centered around each patient’s individual goals.
